Best Basketball Sneakers Right Now: Tested on Court

Your sneakers matter. If your feet are not happy, nothing else works.

I tested a bunch of shoes this season so you do not have to. Here is what is actually worth your money.

Nike GT Cut 3. This is the best all around shoe right now. Light, responsive, good grip. The cushion is perfect for guards who need to feel the court but still want impact protection. Only downside is the price. Nike does not discount these.

LeBron 21. Heavy but protective. If you are a bigger player who needs support, this is your shoe. The cushion is plush. The containment is excellent. You are not going to roll an ankle in these. But you are going to feel the weight.

New Balance Fresh Foam BB. Most comfortable shoe out of the box. No break in time. Kawhi wears them and you can see why. They are stable, the traction is solid, and they do not look crazy. Underrated.

Adidas AE1. Anthony Edwards' first shoe and it is good. Better than most first signatures. The support wings work. The cushion is responsive. They look loud but they perform. Worth checking out.

Li Ning Wade 11. Expensive. Hard to find. But if you can get them, they are incredible. The carbon fiber shank gives you a snappy feel that most shoes do not have. Dwyane Wade's line is serious about performance.

Budget pick: Dame 8. You can find them for under 100 bucks now. They do everything well enough. Traction is great. Cushion is average. But for the price, nothing beats them.

One thing I learned: do not buy shoes based on looks alone. I made that mistake with a pair of Pumas that looked amazing but killed my feet after 20 minutes. Try them on. Play in them. Then decide.
